Keeping your dogs safe this Easter

I know we are a little bit ahead of ourselves, but Easter is just around the corner and can be a dangerous time for dogs.
If eaten in large enough amounts, chocolate and cocoa powder can be extremely harmful, if not fatal, for your dog. Theobromine is a toxic component of chocolate which humans easily metabolize. Dogs process theobromine slowly allowing poisonous toxics to build up in their bodies.
Do not feed or allow anyone to feed your furry friend any chocolate and be mindful to keep all chocolate out of reach from little paws.
Never fear, your dogs can still join in on yummy Easter treats. Most pet shops sell a specially formulated substitute for dogs. ‘Good Boy Choc’ is a safe chocolate treat with added vitamins. Ingredients include:
Oils and fats
Cereals
Sugars
Milk
Minerals
Vegetable origin
Vitamins
Although they are a healthier alternative from human chocolate, these treats should be counted as part of your dog’s daily calorie intake.
Tip: try these treats when training or as a reward for good behaviour
