I am a yak. I am a herd animal who lives in the mountainous regions of central Asia. Our herds mainly consist of females and can range from 10 to 100 of us. We belong to the same cow family as the Asian water buffalo. We have long hair in order to withstand colder climates in the mountains. In winter, we can survive in temperatures as low as -40 degrees (F).
