Snake
I’m a snake and you can find me on every continent of the world except Antarctica. There are over 3000 kinds of snakes, some of us are giants and others are a smaller and grow no bigger than a pencil. I am a carnivore which means I eat meat, but I can’t chew my food so I have to swallow it whole. I have a flexible jaw so I can eat prey bigger than my head! I am covered in scales and although it sometimes looks like I am slimy, my skin is actually smooth and dry. I shed my skin many times a year which can take up to a few days. I do not have eyelids but I do have internal ears rather than ears on the outside of my body and I can smell with my tongue. Pythons are thought to be the longest snakes in the world and can grow over 28ft in length.
