Llama
Hi there! I’m a llama and I live in South America. I am fully grown and llamas can reach a height of 1.8 meters. We are traditionally a domesticated animal which means I am tame and enjoy human company. We carry packs on our back and can hold around 30% of our body weight. Llamas live in a herd and are very social animals. We enjoy eating bromgrass hay, alfalfa hay and corn silage. Our wool is very soft and is sold all over the world. Our babies are called Crias and at birth they can weigh between 9 and 14kg. We can live up to 15 to 25 years and you can now find us in different places in the United States and Canada as llamas were imported from South America in the late 20th Century.
