Jellyfish
I'm a jellyfish, an animal found in every ocean aroundthe world. I first appeared around 650 million years ago and although I have the word 'fish' in my name, I'm not actually a fish species. You will normally find me with other jellyfish, a group of us is called a 'bloom' or a 'swarm'. Did you know that we don't actually have a brain? Instead we have a loose network of nerves called a 'nerve net'. We are made up of 90% water and most of us have tenticles which can sting our prey. Another interesting fact about us is that some of us can actually glow in the dark! Some of us have venom which is contained in our tenticles. Box jellyfish venom is the most deadly in the animal kingdom and the largest known species of jellyfish is called the lions mane jellyfish.
