Walt Disney World is the place that most kids (and adults) dream of going to. Whether it’s to see your favourite character, get the thrill of the biggest and fastest rides or to see the most amazing animals from all around the world; it is fair to say that Disney parks have it all.
I am a massive Disney fan, and the whole time I spent at any of the Disney parks, I felt nothing but complete happiness, excitement and thrill! The things to see and do are never ending- they really are something special and extraordinary.
My experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one that I can honestly say I will never forget. Out of all the parks I visited whilst on my vacation to Florida, Animal Kingdom was one of my favourites. Although I’m simply in love with Magic Kingdom because that is where you will find Cinderella’s spectacular castle, there was just something about Animal Kingdom that completely enticed me.
When entering the park, I was greeted by the sound of African music making me instantly feel like I was walking into the amazon jungle or into an African village. Walking through the midst of tropical plants and tree’s, I noticed how absolutely every little detail had been taken into consideration to make this park what it is. Vibrant colours, sweet smells of African cuisine and tribal decorations made me feel like I had entered another world.
Despite its clearly amazing facilities and detail to care, many people may be cautious of places such as Animal Kingdom, especially with all the controversy on Sea World. For those of you who don’t know, Sea World is another park in Orlando, Florida, which contains a large amount of different sea animals such as seals, flamingos, penguins and even killer whales. There have been debates over the years on whether or not the animals are actually being looked after and treated properly.
Now of course animals are better in their natural habitat, after all it is where they belong. However, at Animal Kingdom the animals are taken care of and treated with the greatest of luxury from what I was able to witness on my trip. Not only are the people who work on the park amazing at what they do, the size of the place is something to credit!
All of the five Disney parks are vast in size, but Animal Kingdom beats them all. The grounds obviously have to be a certain size for the thousands of animals it holds, but I couldn’t believe the enormous capacity of the grounds you walk on, let alone where the wild animals live. I got to see this up close and personal on a safari tour of the animals. Whilst driving around the grounds, it really didn’t feel like I was in America. It’s like I had been transported onto the African planes with giraffes, elephants and rhino’s surrounding me. This tour went on for a good half an hour before coming to an end.
This had to be one of my favourite parts of the day, as I had never experienced anything like it before. I had never been so close to any of these animals and the whole time I had butterflies in my stomache.
Not only was I greatly impressed by the larger animals that I had never seen before, but I also loved walking through the tropical jungle like setting on the park where I got up close to parrots, tropical butterflies, exotic birds, flamingo’s and many more. The scenery is so beautifully picturesque at Animal Kingdom with exquisite colours that surrounded me everywhere I walked.
For me, this was by far the best experience I have ever had with getting to see animals, especially the wide range of animals I got to observe. I think it is a great place for anyone to go and I believe it will leave everyone fascinated and amazed at what they get to see.
Animal Kingdom is something very special to me and something that I will keep very close to me from my holiday to Florida. I would of course go back again one day; it is definitely my animal heaven!
